Here's my contribution to the Saturday Photo Party, a weekly meme hosted by Alyce at :At Home With Books Check it out!
I took a series of photos of this older woman wading in the shallows along the rocky coast of Massachusetts. The hat, the long loose skirt, her stance, the sparkling water and the rocks captured my imagination. It was a portrait waiting to be painted!
After the vacation was over, I played with the photo in my editing program, something I've never done before.
This is the result:
Have you ever "photoshopped" a picture in this way? Did you like the results?

I do like the results as an interesting contrast, but I like the original better. Nice capture. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteYes, I love tinkering with photos this way! Such interesting, beautiful, unusual results. This one is an especially lovely composition.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I do enjoy playing around with photo editing tools...I like the effects. Thanks for sharing, and here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
ReplyDeleteWow, that is cool! I have never changed a photo quite like that, but I admire the result!! Now I want to find a picture and try. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! I really should take time to play with photos more, it is fun to apply different effects!
ReplyDeleteHere's my snapshot post this week.
I've played around, but never really got to grips with anything beyond cropping! I must try and be more creative. My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/5WXI0
ReplyDeleteHow fun! It's neat to stumble on inspiration like that.
ReplyDeleteIs this photo at Back Beach in Rockport? I love what you did with it ... plays nicely with the rock beach wall in the background!
ReplyDeleteWe were in Rockport! Not sure what the beach was called but we walked there from a B&B very near the village. Do you know the area?
DeleteI love that first photo, I can see why she caught your eye. I've never photoshopped anything, I keep myself to cropping and occasionally adjusting a few colours. Well done.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, I love that photo you captured of the older woman in the water -- very telling I thought.
ReplyDeleteThat second one definitely looks like a painting. Very neat!
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara :-) Thank you so much for finding and kindly commenting on my blog. I'm so glad you did as I have really enjoyed looking through your lovely blog. I especially enjoyed seeing your birds and butterflies. How I wish we had the Monarchs here!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw your photo I thought how artistic it looked. I was also struck by how the older lady paddling shows that we are all children at heart...whatever our age :-)
I love your blog description!
